Founder's Note

In 1983, after years spent as an alcoholic and an addict, I finally achieved sobriety through a 12-step programme. However, my journey was incomplete as I spent many more years dealing with other addictions and related mental health issues. Although my life seemed 'perfect' to the outside world: a beautiful wife and children, a successful career as a merchant banker with all the material trappings, I often felt despondent, as though I were dying on the inside and cut off from my loved ones. I was confused as to why I still felt so empty, having achieved so many of my personal goals.

Following some devastating life events, I reached an all time low and feared that my sobriety and sanity were in serious jeopardy. The search for a solution led me to the United States where I received effective and successful treatment. I was finally able to uncover and face the underlying issues and trauma that had plagued me constantly. As a result, I now enjoy a wonderful and meaningful life, having attained twenty four years of continuous sobriety.

I know from my own personal experience how progressive, debilitating and life threatening this trans-generational disease can be. I give heartfelt and immeasurable thanks for the resources and tools that have enabled me to reclaim my life and give me hope for a brighter future for my children and the generations thereafter. Unfortunately, many individuals have not had access to the resources and tools to deal with their addictions and related issues. Life Works was founded to make these resources and tools available in Europe. Our goal is to help you reclaim your life and offer you and your family hope for a brighter future.
