Testimonials

"My experience at Life Works was one of outstanding professionalism and caring coupled with a well designed and integrated programme" Mark, Sex Addict

What is sex addiction? Like all addictive disorders, sex addiction is identified when sexual behaviours lead to the loss of control, the compulsion to act out and continued acting out despite negative consequences, such as partnership, legal, financial or career problems resulting from the addiction.

But sex addicts are presented with an even greater challenge when realizing that this is, indeed, an addiction; shame and secrecy are at the core of the disorder, and because of this, it can be profoundly frightening and difficult to ask for help.

The patterns that develop in sex addiction often begin in childhood or adolescence, sometimes with traumatic events, often with experiences that pair pleasure with pain and hopelessness. As this cycle gets reinforced over the years, the pleasure diminishes and the internal sense of despair, isolation and self loathing takes over. And, without help, the cycle of addiction becomes progressively worse over time.

Our extensively trained staff have the knowledge and the experience necessary to effectively treat sex addiction. We offer a free, thorough assessment that is completely confidential, and we have several treatment options that have been specifically designed to address the complex tangle of issues that sex addicts face with loved ones, family members, employers and most importantly, within themselves.
