Group Psychotherapy

Group therapy sessions form a major part of the treatment process and allow clients to talk with each other in a safe, facilitated space. Looking at the relationship between individuals and the group highlights the social dimension of human experience. This is key to addressing the loneliness and isolation that many individuals may feel.

At Life Works, our group therapy sessions can be valuable for individuals who struggle to express their feelings and needs with others, group members are encouraged to share their experiences and insights in a supportive and trusting environment. This offers individuals different perspectives on problems relating to behavioural health and addiction issues and also provides opportunities for timely feedback and support from other members of the group. This experience supports individuals to develop greater self-awareness and understanding of their relationships.

Most people find the thought of discussing their life experience with strangers in a group setting very intimidating. We understand this and will ensure you are given enough time to get to know your peers and hear their experiences. This will allow you to build up a level of trust and feel safe to open up, in your own time. Participation in our group sessions often helps individuals realise that they are not alone and this experience develops a sense of strength, closeness and support between group members.

See why choosing Life Works is the first step in getting the right treatment for you.
