Men's Sexual Addiction Workshop
This workshop will focus on moving beyond current struggles in recovery from sex addiction with an emphasis on issues of spirituality, intergrity and masculinity. Participants will have the opportunity to gain deeper understanding of repeating patterns of addiction and how to move towards a widening experience of intimacy.
Biography
Michael has been licensed in California as a Marriage and Family Counsellor since 1981. He has studied and practiced in the field of addictions and compulsive behaviour for over twenty years. His areas of specialisation are chemical dependencies and sexual compulsivity. In 1991 he co-founded a treatment programme for problematic sexual behaviour with Dr Patrick Carnes. Previously he was the director of a Adolescents and Children's unit focusing on family dynamics of addiction and trauma. Presently in private practice and Director of Michael Alvarez and Associates, he provides direct clinical services, participates in forensic evaluations, expert court testifying and is a consultant to various church and secular organisations.
Mike is a Clinical Consultant at Life Works.
