Continued support during coronavirus outbreak
In this video, Medical Director and Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr Asif Bachlani, offers advice and support to GPs looking to refer patients for mental health, eating disorder or addiction support. He talks to us about the services available at Woking and Life Works, and how they have adapted to the COVID-19 outbreak.
I need support for an addiction or eating disorder. What are the next steps?
When you have acknowledged your difficulties and made the decision to seek help, we aim to make sure that the process of receiving timely support is as seamless as possible.
The first step that you may wish to take is to speak to your GP about your concerns. Your GP will be able to provide advice on your symptoms and facilitate an onward referral to receive specialist treatment at Life Works, if this is required. Alternatively, you may wish to contact Life Works directly yourself. Our dedicated admissions team will be able to provide comprehensive information on accessing treatment, what to expect as a Life Works client, as well as funding options.
The next step following a conversation with our admissions team is to receive your free addiction or eating disorder assessment. This initial assessment can take place either over the phone or face-to-face, and provides you with the opportunity to explore your unique challenges with a member of our expert team, ask any questions that you may have on Life Works’ treatment and rehab journey, and begin to develop an understanding of the journey that you could be taking towards recovery and wellbeing.
If, following your initial assessment, Life Works is deemed as being the best place for you to address your addiction or eating disorder, you will be able to commence with admission and treatment. We are able to support both week and weekend admissions, in order to guarantee the utmost flexibility and convenience for our clients.
A helpful and compassionate team
We are committed to ensuring that our assessment and admissions process is seamless and transparent. As such, if you require any further information or wish to take the first steps to accessing world class treatment, you can call our highly trained, compassionate team who will be able to guide you through the process and answer any initial questions that you may have.
