Outpatient and day care treatment
We are able to provide outpatient and day care treatment at Life Works for our eating disorder clients.
We also plan to develop outpatient and day care treatment programmes for our addictions clients in the future, once they have completed an initial residential treatment programme.
What is outpatient treatment?
Outpatient treatment consists of you attending Life Works, usually for one hour per week, to receive therapy for your eating disorder. These sessions can be arranged for times that are convenient to you and fit in with your work and other commitments.
This flexible form of therapy is useful for clients who need ongoing support for their eating disorder, but don’t need intensive 24-hour monitoring or more comprehensive day care.
What is day care?
Day care is characterised by clients attending Life Works for a set number of full or half days each week to receive support for their eating disorder.
This format of therapy is particularly useful for individuals who don’t need round-the-clock care for their eating disorder, but do require some level of structured, ongoing therapy.
Bespoke outpatient treatment and day care at Life Works
The treatment programme that you receive at Life Works will be recommended and selected according to your unique concerns and requirements. The format of the therapy that you receive during outpatient treatment and day care will typically consist of a combination of one-to-one and group therapy, and we also offer a wide range of therapeutic techniques including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) informed groups, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) informed groups, art informed therapy and mindfulness.
Flexible treatment pathways at Life Works
Outpatient treatment can be used as a step-down from the more intensive day care or inpatient treatment options. Day care may be used as a step-up in intensity from an outpatient treatment programme, or as a step-down in intensity from an inpatient treatment programme.
In addition, outpatient treatment and day care options can also be used as an entry-point to treatment if required, or can be used in preparation for a residential stay at Life Works.
The treatment and recovery pathway that you take at Life Works will be completely personalised according to your individual requirements and the level of support that you need.
