Life Works’ aftercare offering
We are pleased to offer access to aftercare for all clients who have completed our 28-day Addiction Treatment Programme. Going home following treatment can be one of the most difficult points in a person’s recovery. When you are in residential treatment, overcoming problems or concerns can be less daunting due to the fact that you are receiving 24-hour support and monitoring by an expert team. However, returning home to the people or situation that may have triggered your addiction and having to deal with any challenges on your own, can be overwhelming.
Aftercare is an essential element of any care plan and Life Works is committed to ensuring that our clients complete their treatment programme with support in place to continue their recovery. Before completing treatment, each client’s needs are evaluated and an individually tailored continuing care plan and relapse prevention plan are formulated.
Upon leaving treatment, all clients are strongly encouraged to follow these detailed plans which may include elements such as follow-up treatment, ongoing therapy and attending fellowship meetings. Each plan is specifically designed to promote continuous recovery and as far as possible, provide a seamless transition between Life Works and whatever the next move happens to be.
Whilst aftercare is not provided on-site at Life Works, we can facilitate a smooth transition into an aftercare programme either at our sister site, Priory Hospital Woking, or another hospital within our Priory network, if this is closer to home for you. Aftercare is provided free of charge for 12 months, for all clients who have completed a 28-day stay with us.
During treatment, clients are actively encouraged to attend fellowship meetings and this doesn’t stop once you have left treatment. We strongly recommend that upon leaving treatment, you continue to attend these meetings in your local area. To find your nearest fellowship meeting, you can visit the following websites:
- Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)
- Narcotics Anonymous (NA)
- Gamblers Anonymous (GA)
- Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA)
As well as our aftercare offering and access to fellowship meetings, Life Works also provides a range of events and activities to help you to enrich and continue your recovery. These include workshops, lectures and social events, aimed at tackling challenges regarding recovery and providing support and inspiration for you on your continuing journey.
