How can I start treatment at Life Works?

How to start your recovery at Life Works

Love Addiction TreatmentStarting love addiction treatment at Life Works is less daunting and mysterious than you may think. When you call, you will speak with our admissions professionals who will discuss your situation and the issues that you are facing .

We will ask you a number of questions that will help to assess your needs, in order to recommend the most appropriate treatment for you. Our admissions team will also be able to address any concerns or queries you may have around treatment.

By simply calling us on 0800 081 0700 or contacting us using our online form, you will be making a big step towards your recovery and regaining the life that you deserve.

What happens next?

The next step is for you to complete a pre-screening assessment. We can do this with you over the phone or you can come to Life Works and meet with one of our admissions team in person. During the pre-screening assessment, we will discuss in more detail the issues that you feel you need support with and the best treatment options for you.

When you come to Life Works, you can expect to be treated with respect, understanding and compassion. We will only admit you if we truly believe that we can offer the best treatment for you. If we feel that we are not best placed to help you, we will suggest other treatment options. Ensuring that we offer the best possible care for each individual is paramount to us.

If we feel that we can offer the best treatment for you, and you wish to come in for treatment we will arrange for you to come in for a comprehensive assessment covering key medical, psychiatric and psychological issues with one of our dedicated primary counsellors.

Throughout your treatment at Life Works, you will be under the care of one of our dedicated psychiatrists, general practitioners (GP), counsellors and dietician (where appropriate), and you will be thoroughly assessed by each of these professionals.

What will happen when I admit for treatment at Life Works?

When you enter treatment at Life Works, you will be met by our admissions team who will welcome you and answer any last minute questions you may have.

You will then be introduced to the nursing team who will undertake an initial medical risk assessment of you. It is at this point that you can advise us of any medications you are currently taking including the name of the medication, the dosage and frequency administered, as well as the name of the physician who prescribed the medication.

In order that you come prepared and know what to expect, we have compiled the following information booklet that will help you in planning your stay with Life Works. Download PDF.

Once the medical assessment is completed, we will then introduce you to your primary counsellor who will work with you personally throughout your stay with us.

We will also assign a ‘buddy’ to you. Your buddy will show you where things are and help you settle into Life Works.
